ANTS DON'T SPEAK BUT THEY WORK TOGETHER
Director. Nikhil Sudhakar Chalakh
Country. indiaYear of production. 2018Running time. 7min 9

The film is an insight into the world of a boy who is a daydreamer. He is deaf and mute and has a

special relationship with nature. On a train journey with his parents he enjoys the cool breeze blowing

on to his face, the natural scenic environment, flora and fauna, the tress, the birds, and last but not the

least the ants. He expresses his desire of doing a trip in nature, which he expresses to his mother, but

the idea does not seem to appeal to his father. Eventually he again turns up to nature only this time

equipped with binoculars. While he looks out through the binoculars he sees a family of ants a mother,

a father and their child resting on the tree leaves, when suddenly the wind blows them to the river and

then through the window, into the train, right onto the face of his father. He saves the ant family from

being crushed by his father and ends up being friends with the ant family, more so because they also

understand the language of love and not words. He offers them food and they cling to the hand of the

boy, which eventually zooms out to show the boy and his family in the hands of a larger benefactor.
